Thinking

A lot. About what I want to be and do and create. Things have been really sticky here around the RocketPad and I'm at a bit of a loss. I'm trying to keep up with everything and sometimes it just feels like all the work I do just isn't enough. I guess I'm just really really tired right now and at a stand still in my world. Must break through the gates and hold my head up high and say fuck it all and just do what I need to. "Suffering brings strength" is what my father used to say all the time. Or was is "character". Maybe it's both. Lord knows I'm a character. Heh.

Trying To Be Good

It's really freaking hard to keep up with this during the busy summer months when all I want to do is go to Saints games or read on the porch with a gin and tonic. My art has been seriously lacking. But, on the other hand, I'm going to bust my ass in the next two days to get the crap, er, I mean CRAFT room together, now that the desk is fully assembled (thank you, Mr. Rocket for waiting 2 months to get a small piece of hardware for me!!! - lol).

No other real news, other than I'm crushed to no end that I can't hit Glittercon this weekend. Just isn't in the budget. Ninny, I'm so sad!!!

Back

From Chicago. Exhausted to no end. Had the day off, and due to thunderstorms (finally! hooray!) napped a lot.

This precious little bee was the young lady I went to bless. According to MamaBee, this is her version of a kiss, and she just doesn't do it to anyone!



Will write more when time and sanity allows.

OMG

I'm so fucking tired. Worked yesterday and then the storm. Finished packing and am shortly leaving to hang with LJ in Chicago. Get to spend a night with my girlfriend Dez too, bless a baby, renew vows, and hit a rockabilly night. Drop off art in Milwaukee. What vacation? This is no stinking vacation, this is WORK, but it'll be fun as fuck. Must make coffee.

Little Tired

Worked my ass off today at the pizza joint. No good stories, though. Other than chasing down "Missy" who walked down to the hair salon with her drink. Egads. Really. Sigh.

Leaving for Chicago around 11 am tomorrow! I get to not only bless and name Knitty's baby, I get to renew their vows also. I'm the blessed one here. Life is good.

Got my ATCs from Glitter today - holy crap on a stick - they are amazing.

I so want to do this on a regular basis, as it really inspires me to work more and harder on my art. I hope that mine were welcomed as much as I love these. I just have to find a way to display/keep them safe. Seriously, they are so cool.

I just noticed that my new blog name looks like JackieRockeTARTS. Heh. I crack me up.

Okay Here Goes

I'm trying this again. It really has been way too long and I miss doing this. Round 3.

Things have been going swell around here regarding my work. I've been pumping out ATCs, and showing a lot lately. Grumpy's during Art A Whirl, and working on my zillionth piece for http://www.lsmfa.com/ for their tattoo themed show in August. Also showing at LuckyStar in January.

This piece (Harmon Place I) is a close up of one that was shown at Grumpy's, and will be entered into the First Annual Recycled Art Contest in Jordan, MN. I used scrap wood, recycled paper, a broken guitar string, and a found broken 45 record (not shown). Also about 3 cans of Krystal Klear Koat. Oh my, I love shiny stuff.

Since I am blogger stupid, the first picture is of a shadow box that I created from clip art and shrinky dinks for above mentioned tattoo show. I couldn't figure out how to put it down here.
