Weekend Adventures

Where to start again? I should be doing this daily!

Saturday, I was supposed to hang out with mom at the Uptown Art Fair. It was her birthday weekend and that's what she wanted to do. Let it be known, I HATE THE UPTOWN ART FAIR. It's not all local artists, it's crowded, it's (IMHO) pretty crappy art, and it's expensive and a PITA to get around at. Luckily, it was supposed to storm that day, so she cancelled on me. It just sprinkled a lot that day, and I felt guiltily grateful.

Sunday, P drove me out to her place, we visited a bit, P left, and mom and I were taken to The Chanhassen Dinner Theater for Always...Patsy Cline. I'm not going to lie. I was rather dreading it. 1. Dinner theater always makes me think about rubber chicken and poor acting by ppl who never made it "big" 2. Dinner with my mom and brother is always a little weird. I can have dinner with one or the other, but both for some reason is awkward. I don't know why. Maybe memories of childhood? I don't have any idea. But it was very nice. Except the iceburg dinner salad. EW. The chicken I had was pretty good, and the wild rice was super yum. The show was lovely. I was afraid it was going to be a "tribute show" (think Elvis) and that was it. But there was a great storyline about this little gal in Texas who LOVED Patsy and how she got to meet her. The gal that played Patsy was quite good (and anyone who knows me, knows I'm a snob about that sort of thing). All in all, it was a wonderful evening, and a big thanks to my generous brother.

Monday, Mom and I went out to lunch at The Edina Grill where one of her girlfriends had given her a GC to. It was really yummy. I got the grilled salad with shrimp and a beer, mom had the spinach salad and a glass of wine. Not that my salad didn't rock, but hers was better (nibbler!). She brought me back into the city, and we split a drink across the street. I introduced her to D, my friend who is in her age bracket, but I got a NO look from her. I tried!

Today's been quiet. Dishes. Thinking about design that I want to put on Thank You card for The Good Doctor's office team. Planning cookie bonanza for Thursday. Oh, and thinking about dinner too....

I miss cookie baking.

I'm so glad dinner theatre was pretty good!

And LOL! I love you, but I honestly cannot see you being able to find the right guy for mom. You're just too different! (I can picture the "NO." glare she shot you, tho...HEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.)
